Villard-Bonnot is a French municipality with 7107 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Grenoble and is part of the canton of Le Moyen Grésivaudan . The inhabitants are called Villardien (ne) s .

geography

Villard-Bonnot is located in the Grésivaudan valley on the left bank of the Isère on the flank of the Belledonne mountain range and about seventeen kilometers north of Grenoble . Villard-Bonnot is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Crolles in the north, Froges in the northeast, Laval in the east, Sainte-Agnès and La Combe-de-Lancey in the southeast, Saint-Jean-le-Vieux in the south, Le Versoud in the southwest, Montbonnot- Saint-Martin to the west and Bernin to the northwest.

The municipality consists of the localities Brignoud , Villard-Bonnot and Lancey .
