Poisat is a French commune in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It has 2,168 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) and is part of the Arrondissement of Grenoble and the canton of Saint-Martin-d'Hères (until 2015: canton of Eybens ). The inhabitants are called Poisatiers .

Poisat is a banlieue four kilometers southeast of Grenoble city center . Poisat is surrounded by its neighboring communities Grenoble in the north, Saint-Martin-d'Hères in the northeast, Herbeys in the southeast, Brié-et-Angonnes in the south and Eybens in the west.
