Treffort is a French municipality with 292 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Grenoble and belongs to the canton of Matheysine-Trièves ( Monestier-de-Clermont until 2015 ). The inhabitants are called Treffortins .
geography
The meeting point is about 28 kilometers south-southwest of Grenoble on a plateau in the Vercors Mountains. In the east the river Drac , which is dammed up here to the Lac de Monteynard , borders the community. Treffort is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sinard in the north, Marcieu in the east and northeast, Mayres-Savel in the east and southeast, Lavars in the south, Roissard in the west and southwest and Monestier-de-Clermont in the west and northwest.
