Izeron is a French municipality with 726 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Grenoble and the canton of Le Sud Grésivaudan (until 2015: canton of Pont-en-Royans ). The inhabitants are called Izeronnais .

geography

Izeron is located about 33 kilometers west-southwest of Grenoble on the Isère , which borders the municipality in the west, in the historic Dauphiné landscape . Izeron is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Têche and Beaulieu in the north, Cognin-les-Gorges in the north and northeast, Malleval-en-Vercors in the east and northeast, Rencurel in the east and southeast, Saint-Pierre-de-Chérennes in the south and Saint- Sauveur to the west.
