Chevrières is a French municipality with 708 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Grenoble and the Canton of Le Sud Grésivaudan (until 2015: Canton of Saint-Marcellin ). The inhabitants are called Chevriérois .

geography

Chevrières is located about 34 kilometers west of Grenoble in the historic Dauphiné landscape , on the Merdaret river , which is still called Ruisseau de Murinais here . Chevrières is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Roybon in the north and northwest, Murinais in the northeast, Saint-Vérand in the east, Saint-Marcellin in the southeast, Chatte in the south and Saint-Appolinard in the west.
