Elzéar de Grimoard
Elzéar de Grimoard , also known as Elzéar Grimoard , (* in Le Pont-de-Montvert ) was a French monk. He was Minister General of the Carthusian Order from 1361 to 1367 . He was uncle of Guillaume de Grimoard , who as Urban V. Avignonesischer Pope was.
Life
Grimoard was prior of the Charterhouse of Bonpas in Caumont , Comtat Venaissin on the banks of the Durance before he became Minister General of the Carthusians in 1361. The following year his nephew Guillaume, who was abbot of Saint-Victor in Marseille, became Pope Urban V and his brother Anglic de Grimoard became a cardinal .
