Vlatko Hercegović Kosača

Vlatko Hercegović Kosača († 1489 on Rab ) was a Bosnian duke (Herceg) .

biography

After the death of his father Stjepan Vukčić Kosača in 1466 he inherited his possessions and the title of hercegs. From 1469 he took part in the conquest of Počitelj ( 1472 ) as an Ottoman vassal . When Hercegović-Kosača tried from 1480  to free himself from the Ottoman authorities , he was defeated and withdrew to Herceg Novi . The Ottomans occupied this city in 1483 and Vlatko moved to the then Venetian town of Rab, where he died in 1489.
