Valentin Alexandru Cojocaru (born October 1, 1995 in Bucharest ) is a Romanian football player . He has been under contract with Steaua Bucharest since summer 2011 , but has been on loan to Frosinone Calcio since January 2017 .

Career

society

Cojocaru joined the Steaua Bucharest youth team in 2007 and joined the second team squad in 2010 at the age of 15. A year later he was promoted to the first team. On May 7, 2013 he came in the game against Gloria Bistrița for his first use, when he replaced goalkeeper Ciprian Tătăruşanu . At this point in time, Steaua had already been confirmed as 2013 champions . In the 2013/14 season he was the third goalkeeper behind Tătăruşanu and Florin Niță not to train. In the 2014/15 season he alternated with Niță in the role of deputy to the new number one Giedrius Arlauskis . Cojocaru came on seven appearances and won his third championship title. After Arlauskis Steaua at the beginning of the season 2015/16 for FC Watford had left, he became his successor. On the eighth game day Niă replaced him as number one.

In August 2016 Cojocaru was loaned to FC Crotone in the Italian Serie A for one year . There he was not used as Alex Cordaz's deputy , so the loan was canceled in January 2017 and Cojocaru was loaned to the second division club Frosinone Calcio .

National team

In November 2016, national coach Christoph Daum called Cojocaru to his line-up for a friendly game between the Romanian national team and Russia , but did not use him.
