Yerville is a French commune with 2,418 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Seine-Maritime department of the Normandy region . The municipality is part of the canton of Yvetot (until 2015: canton of Yerville ).

geography

Yerville lies in the middle of the Pays de Caux countryside . The Saâne River has its source here . The neighboring municipalities of Yerville are Ouville-l'Abbaye in the north and northwest, Vibeuf in the north and northeast, Bourdainville in the east, Ectot-l'Auber in the southeast, Saint-Martin-aux-Arbres in the south and Criquetot-sur-Ouville in the west and northwest.

The A29 autoroute as well as the former Routes nationales 29 (today's D929) and 315 (today's D142) run along the southern edge of the municipality .

history

The present municipality was created in 1822 from the merger of the municipalities of Yerville and Thibermesnil.
