Palazzo Molin del Cuoridoro

The Palazzo Molin del Cuoridoro is a palace of the early Renaissance , which in Venetian Sestiere San Marco is at the junction of the channels Rio dei Barcaroli and Rio Fuseri. The name "del Cuoridoro" of the private lane leading through the inner courtyard from Frezzaria Street to the Palazzo refers to the craft of leather gilding .

history

The building is connected to the Molin family, who only provided the doge once in the person of Francesco Molin from 1646 to 1655. The palace was built in 1468 by the brothers Marco and Girolamo Molin. A family coat of arms is on the house. An attribution to an architect is not known.

The building is a listed building , but it was renovated after 2000 and marketed as an apartment block with 18 so-called luxury condominiums.

Leopold and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart stayed in the Palazzo Molin on their trip to Italy in February 1771. The residents at the time were Johann Wider and his wife Venturina and their six daughters, whom Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart had christened "pearl " or the "Widerischen Berlein" (= pearls).
