La Vieux-Rue is a French municipality with 571 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Seine-Maritime in the region Normandy (before 2016: Haute-Normandie ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Rouen and the canton of Le Mesnil-Esnard (until 2015: canton Darnétal ). The inhabitants are called Velliruais .

La Vieux-Rue is about 13 kilometers east-northeast of Rouen . La Vieux-Rue is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Morgny-la-Pommeraye in the north, Blainville-Crevon in the east, Servaville-Salmonville in the east and south-east, Préaux in the west and south and Quincampoix in the north-west.
