Oissel is a French municipality with 11,895 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Seine-Maritime in the region Normandy . It is located 15 km south of Rouen on the Seine . The river limits the community in the south and east. The A 13 motorway (Europastraße 5) runs to the west . In terms of industry, the municipality is primarily home to chemical and petrochemical companies.
The place was already badly destroyed in the First World War. About a fifth of the population died. During the Second World War , 249 buildings were destroyed and 1,475 damaged in five years (1939–1944).
In 1969 a partnership was established with the then still independent community of Anderten , which is now a district of Hanover . There are regular youth exchanges and connections between TSV Anderten , Sportfreunde Anderten and the Misburg sports community.
