Bihorel is a French municipality with 8398 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Seine-Maritime in the region Normandy . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Rouen and the canton of Bois-Guillaume .
geography
The municipality is located in the metropolitan area north of Rouen . Neighboring communities are:
- Saint-Martin-du-Vivier in the east,
- Rouen in the south and
- Bois-Guillaume to the west and north.
history
The municipality was merged with the municipality of Bois-Guillaume on January 1, 2012 and was called Bois-Guillaume-Bihorel . However, the merger was rejected by a court order on June 18, 2013 and reversed in late 2013. Since then both have been independent parishes again.
