Bois-Guillaume is a French municipality with 13,796 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Seine-Maritime in the region Normandy . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Rouen and the canton of the same name, Bois-Guillaume , of which it is the capital.

geography

The municipality is located in the metropolitan area north of Rouen . Neighboring municipalities are Isneauville in the northeast, Saint-Martin-du-Vivier in the east, Bihorel in the southeast, Rouen in the south, Mont-Saint-Aignan in the west and Houppeville in the northwest.

history

The municipality was merged with the municipality of Bihorel on January 1, 2012 and was called Bois-Guillaume-Bihorel . However, the merger was rejected by a court order on June 18, 2013 and reversed in late 2013. Since then both have been independent parishes again.
