Malaunay is a French municipality with 6110 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Seine-Maritime in the region Normandy . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Rouen and the canton of Notre-Dame-de-Bondeville . The inhabitants are called Malaysia .
geography
It is located a few kilometers northwest of Rouen , through the municipality flows the Cailly . Malaunay is surrounded by the neighboring communities Eslettes in the north, Montville in the northeast, Bosc-Gérard-Saint-Adrien in the east, Houppeville in the southeast, Le Houlme in the south, Saint-Jean-du-Cardonnay in the southwest and Pissy-Pôville in the west.

traffic
Malaunay is located at the junction of the Paris – Le Havre railway (starting at Saint-Lazare station ) and the line to Dieppe . The local train station Malaunay - Le Houlme is located on the territory of the neighboring municipality of Le Houlme .
The A 151 motorway from Rouen to Dieppe runs on the north-western outskirts and has an exit in the neighboring municipality of Eslettes . The departmental roads D121, D124, D155 and D927 also run through the village .

The novel "La Bete Humaine" (" The animal in man ") by Emile Zola , set in the railroad milieu around 1870, is set partly in the fictional village of La-Croix-de-Maufrage, "exactly in the middle between the stations Malaunay and Barentin , four kilometers from each station ".
