The State Road 24 (SS 24) is an Italian state road 1928 between Susa and the French border on the Colle del Monginevro has been set, where they in the Route nationale 94 passes to Pont-Saint-Esprit. It goes back to the Strada nazionale 41 established in 1923 . Because of her leadership, she received the title del Monginevro by name . Their length was 43 kilometers. In 1947 it was shortened due to border shifts after the Second World War. The SS24 was extended from Susa to Turin. It runs on the other side of the valley of the Dora Ripana river than state road 25 does. With this extension, the road had a length of 96.540 kilometers. In 2001, this 55.2 kilometer extension was downgraded to the Provincial Road and rededicated as SP24. This new SP 24 retained the title by name. In this context, the SP 24 di Villanova SP 724 , which had previously had this number, was given a new number.
