Rosporden is a French commune with 7671 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the west of Brittany in the Finistère department . The city lies on the Aven river , which is dammed up here to form a lake.

Quimper is 20 kilometers to the west, Lorient 40 kilometers to the southeast, Brest 66 kilometers to the northwest and Paris about 460 kilometers to the east.

The municipality has an exit on the expressway E 60 ( Nantes -Brest) and a regional train station on the Nantes-Lorient-Rosporden-Quimper-Brest railway line .
