location

The place is located in the southwest of Brittany on the Odet River near the Atlantic coast . Quimper is 18 kilometers north, Brest 60 kilometers north-northwest and Paris about 490 kilometers east.

traffic

At Quimper the next exits are on the expressway E 60 (Brest- Nantes ) and a regional train station on the mostly parallel railway line. Combrit itself is connected to its neighboring communities via the Départementsstraße D 44.

Brest train station is the terminus of the TGV Atlantique to Paris. The airports Aéroport de Brest Bretagne near Brest and Aéroport de Lorient Bretagne Sud near Lorient are the nearest regional airports .

Sainte-Marine

L'abri du marin

The village of Sainte-Marine, located directly on the Odet estuary , belongs to Combrit . It is named after its chapel from the 15th / 16th centuries. Century dedicated to Sainte Moran (later known as Sainte Maraine and now known as Sainte Marine).

The local port was an important transshipment point for wines from the Bordelais and Saintonge even in the Middle Ages . Huguenots settled here during the wars of religion .
