Quéménéven ( Breton Kemeneven ) is a French commune with 1117 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Finistère department . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Quimper and the Canton of Crozon .
geography
The municipality is located in the Cornouaille region in western Brittany , about twelve kilometers east of the Atlantic coast , ten kilometers south of Châteaulin , twelve kilometers north of Quimper , and 40 kilometers southeast of Brest (as the crow flies). The municipality belongs to the catchment area of the Steïr , a tributary of the Odet . In the extreme southwest, the community has a share of the wooded mountain range Montagne du Prieuré . This is also the highest point in the municipality at 280 meters above sea level.
The districts of Kergoat, Coat Bernès, Pont Guen and La Gare as well as numerous hamlets and individual farms belong to the municipality of Quéménéven .
