Coast at the Pointe de la Jument

Poullan-sur-Mer ( Breton Poullann ) is a French commune in the Finistère department in Brittany with 1516 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017). It belongs to the Arrondissement Quimper , the canton Douarnenez and the community association Douarnenez Communauté .

geography

The municipality is located in the west of Brittany in the Cornouaille region on the Atlantic Ocean (on the Bay of Douarnenez ), the center of which is a good two kilometers south-east of the coast. The municipality of Douarnenez is six kilometers to the east, Quimper 25 kilometers to the southeast and Brest about 35 kilometers to the north (distances slightly rounded as the crow flies ).

Attractions

As cultural monuments in the community u. a. some churches, chapels, mansions and other historical buildings, a calvary , stone crosses and the menhir de Tréota are shown. Four objects are classified as monument historique .

Transport links

The nearest exits on the motorway-like expressway E 60 ( Nantes -Brest) are at Quimper and Châteaulin . Quimper station is a TGV Atlantique station and regional station on the TER Bretagne network . The Quimper-Douarnenez railway was closed to passenger traffic as early as 1974. The next regional airports are the Quimper-Cornouaille airport and Brest airport .
