location

history
Two menhirs in the district , one in the country and the other on Cape Pointe de Beg Meil , are the symbols of human occupation at the end of the Bronze Age and the beginning of the Iron Age . Current research on the island of Île aux Moutons has established permanent settlements in different ages (in the Neolithic , Iron Age and the Roman Republic ). Coffins were also found on the Glénan as a further trace of ancient settlements.

The airports Aéroport de Lorient Bretagne Sud near Lorient and Aéroport de Brest Bretagne near Brest are the nearest regional airports . The airport in Quimper-Pluguffan is of course even cheaper because it is closer .
Town twinning

At irregular intervals there is an exchange of athletes with associated tournaments between various sports clubs from Fouesnant and Meerbusch. Since 1999 there has been an annual student exchange between the College Kervihan in Fouesnant and the Mataré-Gymnasium , the Maria-Montessori comprehensive school and the secondary school Osterath in Meerbusch.
