See also: List of Monuments historiques in Loctudy

  • Church Saint-Tudy from 11-12. Century with an extraordinarily preserved Romanesque choir, strange sculptures and richly decorated capitals
  • Manoir de Kerazan with a spacious park and tall, old trees
  • Le Domaine du Dourdy with castle from 1913; planned as an orphanage, then a military hospital, later a French naval school and from 1945 orphanage, which was closed again in 1960. Today it is part of a holiday village.
  • Manoir de Kervéréguen from 1242; since 1615 continuously owned by an aristocratic Breton family who previously also owned the Manoir de Kerazan. Today part of the former, extensive park is a campsite or a garbage dump.
  • Chapelle Notre Dame du Croaziou
  • Menhir de Penglaouic or Penloïc near Loctudy at the mouth of the Pont-l'Abbe river protrudes four meters from the silt. The menhir, which was built on firm ground in the Neolithic, is about 0.75 m below today's mean sea level, the base is about 0.50 m lower. It is a historical tide meter that rises out of the water in different ways.
  • Phare La Perdrix; the lighthouse stands in the stream in front of Loctudy and was in official operation from 1915 to 2000. Its chessboard-like painting with 32 white and 32 black fields makes it unique and therefore it was also part of the coat of arms of the Loctudy community. Whether its painting on the flag of Brittany or whether the name Perdix was taken from the French term for partridges or from Greek mythology is a matter of dispute.
  • Phare de Langoz; this lighthouse marks the waterway between Loctudy and the Ile-Tudy. Nearby is the Perdix lighthouse. It was put into operation in 1863 and only automated in 2004. The red color of the Langoz lighthouse is explained by its function. During the day it is supposed to warn the ships of the nearby coast, at night the beacon takes over this task. Behind the Langoz lighthouse, near the beach of the same name, is the privately owned Langoz Castle. From 1940 to 1944 it was confiscated by the German armed forces and was the seat of the local commandant's office. In the immediate vicinity of this lighthouse is the house of the lighthouse keeper.
  • Ile-Tudy

Economy and Infrastructure

As in many Breton coastal towns, fishing also plays a major role in Loctudy, but as in many other places in Europe with a downward trend. Loctudy was able to compensate for this decline through the growing importance of tourism. In addition to the fishing port, there is also a leisure port with 585 berths. Six sandy beaches make the place a seaside resort .

At Quimper, the next exit is on the expressway E 60 / N 165 (Brest– Nantes ) and a regional train station is on the mostly parallel railway line.

Brest train station is the terminus of the TGV Atlantique to Paris. The nearest regional airports are Lorient Bretagne Sud Airport near Lorient and Brest Airport near Brest.
