Châteaulin ( Breton Kastellin ) is a French commune with 5214 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) and a sub-prefecture in the Finistère department in Brittany . Châteaulin belongs to the canton of Crozon (capital of the canton of Châteaulin until 2015 ).

geography

Châteaulin is located in the center of the Finistère department, on the western edge of the Armorique Regional Nature Park ( Parc naturel régional d'Armorique ). The city lies on both banks of the Aulne , the longest river in the department, a few kilometers before it opens to its estuary northwest of the municipality .
