Saint-Séverin church

Saint-Ségal ( Breton Sant-Segal ) is a French commune in the Finistère department with 1,081 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017). It belongs to the arrondissement of Châteaulin and the canton of Pont-de-Buis-lès-Quimerch .

geography

The municipality is located in western Brittany near the mouth of the Aulne river , which flows into the Rade de Brest , a deeply inland bay of the Atlantic . The place belongs to the Cornouaille region and is located in the Parc naturel régional d'Armorique .

Châteaulin is a good five kilometers southwest, Quimper 27 kilometers south and Brest 35 kilometers northwest (figures rounded off as the crow flies ).

The closest exit on the motorway-like expressway E 60 ( Nantes -Brest) is at Châteaulin and the nearest regional train stations are on the mostly parallel railway line at Pont-de-Buis-lès-Quimerch and Châteaulin.
