Plomodiern ( Breton Ploudiern ) is a French commune in the Finistère department with 2136 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017). It belongs to the arrondissement of Châteaulin and the canton of Crozon .
location
The municipality is located in the west of Brittany on the Atlantic coast ( Bay of Douarnenez ), the center of which is a good four kilometers (km) east of the coast. It is located in the Cornouaille region on the southern flank of the 330 m high Ménez-Hom on the edge of the Parc naturel régional d'Armorique . Châteaulin is ten kilometers east, Quimper 22 kilometers south and Brest 30 kilometers northwest (figures slightly rounded as the crow flies ).

The closest exit on the motorway-like expressway E 60 ( Nantes -Brest) and the next regional train station on the mostly parallel railway line are at Châteaulin.
The regional airport Aéroport Brest-Bretagne is located near Brest .

Attractions
