Argol ( Breton Argol ) is a French commune in the Bretagne region in the west of the Finistère department with 991 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017).

geography

The municipality is located on the Crozon peninsula near the Atlantic coast in the Armorique Regional Nature Park ( French Parc naturel régional d'Armorique ).

Brest is 20 kilometers northwest, Quimper 30 kilometers southeast and Paris about 500 kilometers east.

At Le Faou and Châteaulin the next exits are on the expressway E 60 ( Nantes -Brest) and u. a. There is a regional train station in Châteaulin .

Argol has an enclosed parish . This formed the backdrop for the opening sequence in Chabrol's film "The Beast Must Die (Que la bête meure)" from 1969.
