Navigable From the estuary to Pont-Triffen

The Aulne is a river in France that runs in the Brittany region . It rises in the municipality of Lohuec , drains generally in a south-west to west direction and flows into the Atlantic after 144 kilometers in the Bay of Brest . On its way, the Aulne crosses the Côtes-d'Armor and Finistère departments .

The river is navigable with ships from its mouth to Pont-Triffen . Between Port-Launay and Pont-Triffen, the canalised Aulne is part of the Canal de Nantes à Brest . The Aulne has an approx. 18 km long funnel mouth and is strongly influenced by the tides in the area below Port-Launay . This section is also called Aulne-Maritime .
