Parc Botanique de Cornouaille

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Parc Botanique de Cornouaille is a five hectare private botanical garden in the French commune of Combrit near Pont-l'Abbé .

Since 1983, the first, private, fenced-in parkland in Brittany was created here as part of a natural area of pine trees on a hilly relief of five hectares. In the mild climate of the region, a multi-layered, constantly tended and complementary variety of plants from all over the world is shown, all of which are labeled with age, name and origin.

In the course of the year, part of the complex, known as the English Garden, offers a collection of plants, for example with camellias , magnolias , rhododendrons , azaleas , cherry trees and hydrangeas .

Another part is the water garden of 6,000 m². Here, suitable plants grow on the water's edge, such as gunnera, lilies and irises. You can also observe the diverse animal world such as ducks, coots, fish, squirrels or mink here.

As an additional offer for visitors there is a mineral museum within the parkland, which is subject to entry . Minerals from all over the world, including Brittany, are displayed in 35 shop windows. Another room is reserved for the sale of minerals. Outside a tree nursery is operated by the same operator.
