Plescop ( Breton Ploeskob ) is a French municipality with 5854 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Morbihan in the region of Brittany . It belongs to the canton of Vannes-2 in the arrondissement of Vannes . The inhabitants are called Plescopais (es) .
geography
Pleskop is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Grand-Champ in the north, Meucon in the northeast, Saint-Avé in the east, Vannes in the southeast, Ploeren in the south and southwest, Plougoumelen in the southwest and Plumergat in the west.
history
The place was to be classified according to the name as an early bishop's residence (from Greek episkopos - bishop).
In February 2016, Plescop was one of 13 municipalities that belonged to level 3 of the Charter Ya d'ar brezhoneg for the promotion of the Breton language.
