Saint-Avé (Breton: Sant-Teve ) is a French municipality with 11,642 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Morbihan in the region of Brittany . It belongs to the arrondissement of Vannes and the canton of Vannes-3 .

The community is traversed by the Bilair , Lihuanten and Gornay streams, which flow into the Étang du Duc in Vannes and from there drain into the Gulf of Morbihan via the Bilair estuary , called Marle .

Transport links

Due to its proximity to Vannes, Saint-Avé has excellent transport connections. The national road N166 (Vannes - Ploërmel ) runs along the southern municipal boundary , the western municipal area is crossed by the departmental road D767 (Vannes - Pontivy ). Both are developed like a motorway in this section . The railway line from Vannes to Redon also runs through the municipality. The Vannes-Meucon Airport is located about five kilometers north.
