La Gacilly ( Breton Gazilieg ) is a French municipality with 3,975 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Morbihan in the region of Brittany . It belongs to the arrondissement of Vannes and the canton of Guer .
It was created as a Commune nouvelle of the same name with effect from January 1, 2017 through the amalgamation of the previously independent communities La Gacilly , La Chapelle-Gaceline and Glénac , which have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are located in La Gacilly.

location
La Gacilly is about twelve kilometers northwest of Redon . The Rahun River runs along the northern municipal boundary and flows into the Aff River , which forms the eastern municipal boundary and finally flows into the Oust at Glénac itself . Neighboring municipalities are: Carentoir in the north, Sixt-sur-Aff in the northeast, Cournon in the east, Bains-sur-Oust in the southeast, Saint-Vincent-sur-Oust in the south, Peillac in the southwest, Les Fougerêts in the west and Saint-Nicolas- du-Tertre in the northwest.
Photography festival
Since 2003 there has been an annual photo festival in La Gacilly with pictures by internationally known photographers. German photographers such as Florian Schulz or Olaf Otto Becker were the focus of 2013 alongside others. The festival was held jointly with Baden near Vienna for the first time in 2018 .
Community partnerships
Personalities
Yves Rocher (1930–2009), the founder of the cosmetics company of the same name, was born in La Gacilly and was mayor of the municipality for 46 years.
