Florian Schulz (photographer)

Florian Schulz (born December 21, 1975 in Weingarten ) is a German nature and environmental photographer .

Life

Schulz attended high school in Wilhelmsdorf in Württemberg and then studied biology and English at the University of Heidelberg from 1997 to 2002 . From 2000 to 2001 he was an exchange student at the UNAM in Mexico City , the capital of Mexico .

Schulz has been working as an animal and nature photographer since 2000. His pictures have been published in magazines such as National Geographic , BBC Wildlife and GEO . On average, Schulz spends eight to ten months in the field to document entire ecosystems with his photography projects. His last assignment took him to the Arctic for several years to shoot the companion book for the Warner Brothers IMAX film “To The Arctic”. Schulz has received a variety of awards, including “Environmental Photographer of the Year”, “Conservation Photographer of the Year” and numerous awards in the BBC Wildlife and European Wildlife Photographer of the Year competitions.
