Arzal (Breton: Arzhal ) is a French municipality with 1656 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Morbihan in the region of Brittany . It is part of the Communauté de communes Arc Sud Bretagne .
geography
Arzal lies at the mouth of the Vilaine . Neighboring communities are Muzillac in the west, Marzan in the north, and Férel , Camoël and Pénestin in the south.

- The Séréac mill was built from granite in 1653 and was in operation until 1950.
- The Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Lantierne chapel was built on a T-shaped floor plan in the 12th century. In the 17th century the church was rebuilt and enlarged.
Infrastructure
Arzal has its own junction of the motorway-like N 165, which leads from Nantes via Vannes to Brest .
In the municipality there is the Barrage d'Arzal, a barrage to regulate the outflow of the Vilaine. The Barrage d'Arzal also serves as a road crossing over the Vilaine. There is a marina on the upstream side of the barrage.
Until 1947, Arzal had a train station in the Chemins de fer du Morbihan network .
