The place Bono with the estuary of the same name

Bono (also: Le Bono , bret. : Ar Bonou ) is a French municipality with 2466 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Morbihan in the region of Brittany . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Vannes and the canton of Vannes-2 .

geography

Bono is located near the coast of the Morbihan department on the estuary of the Sal river , which is also called Rivière du Bono here . The small town of Auray is only four kilometers to the north, the city of Vannes about 15 km to the east.

history

The place has been inhabited since the earliest times. The Dolmen du Kernourz testifies to this.

Until 1947 the place belonged to the municipality of Plougoumelen . Bono is part of the Lorient arrondissement and was a municipality in the canton of Auray from 1947 to 2015 .

Population development

Between 1975 and 2006 the population grew (1975–2006: + 35%). Since then, the number of residents has stagnated. The development:
