Arzon (Breton Arzhon-Rewiz ) is a French municipality with 2073 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Morbihan in the region of Brittany . It belongs to the arrondissement of Vannes and the canton of Séné . The residents call themselves Arzonais and Arzonaises .
geography
The village is located on the Rhuys Peninsula and is bordered by the Gulf of Morbihan in the north and the Bay of Quiberon in the south . To the east is the municipality of Saint-Gildas-de-Rhuys . The municipality covers 8.93 km².
history
Already in the year 836 there was a parish in Arzon which belonged to the Abbey of Redon. However, streets from Roman times already bear witness to earlier settlement.

Economy and Infrastructure
The place can be reached via the department road D780, which leads as Boulevard de la Résistance and Rue du General de Gaulle to the ship berth at Port Navalo. An important branch of the economy is tourism. B. two campsites (Tindo in Kerners and Port Sable near Port Navalo) and in addition to the moorings, the large marina Port du Crouesty . Port Navalo was the end point of a stretch of the Chemins de fer du Morbihan until 1947 .
