geography

Monteneuf is about fifteen kilometers southeast of Ploërmel in the east of the Morbihan department. The Rahun River runs along the western boundary of the municipality . Neighboring communities are Porcaro in the north, Guer in the east, Carentoir in the south, Réminiac in the southwest and Augan in the northwest.
