The Oust is a river in France that runs in the Brittany region . Its source is in the municipality of Corlay . The dewatered Oust generally southeast direction and crosses the department Cotes-Armor , Morbihan and Ille-et-Vilaine . After 145 kilometers it flows into the Vilaine at Saint-Jean-la-Poterie , just below Redon , as a right tributary . The river section from Rohan to Redon is canalized and navigable as part of the Canal de Nantes à Brest . Today the canal is only used for tourism by sport boats and houseboats .
