Haut-Mauco ( Gascon : Mau Corn skin ) is a commune with 948 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of land in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the arrondissement of Mont-de-Marsan and the canton of Chalosse Tursan (until 2015: canton of Mont-de-Marsan-Sud ). The inhabitants are called Haut-Maucois .

geography

Haut-Mauco is located about seven kilometers south-southwest of Mont-de-Marsan in the Landes de Gascogne forests . Haut-Mauco is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Perdon in the north and north-west, Saint-Pierre-du-Mont in the north and north-east, Benquet in the east, Bas-Mauco in the south and south-west, Aurice in the south-west and Campagne in the west.
