Escource Town Hall

Escource ( Occitan : Escorce ) is a French municipality with 721 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of land in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (2015: Aquitaine ). Escource belongs to the arrondissement of Mont-de-Marsan and is part of the canton of Haute Lande Armagnac (until 2015: canton of Sabers ).

geography

Escource is located about 52 kilometers northwest of Mont-de-Marsan and about 21 kilometers east of the Atlantic coast. Escource is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Pontenx-les-Forges in the north and north-west, Lüe in the north, Solférino in the east, Onesse-Laharie in the south, Mézos in the south-west and Saint-Paul-en-Born in the west.

The community is on the Via Turonensis , a variant of the Camino de Santiago . Autoroute A63 runs along the eastern edge of the municipality .
