OCGM
The English acronym OCGM stands for Objects, Containers, Gestures, Manipulations and denotes a theoretical concept for the design of user interfaces , especially in connection with speech recognition, gesture control and multi-touch screens. The term was defined in 2010 by Ron George and Joshua Blake, who proposed OCGM as universal, fundamental metaphors for the development of natural user interfaces . They justified their choice of precisely these elements with recourse to theories of cognitive linguistics and universal grammar .
- Objects stands for parts of data that the user can change;
- Container (German: "Container") for the relationships between data or individual objects;
- Gestures (German: "gestures") for indirect, discrete and intelligent interactions.
- Manipulations (German: "Operation") for constant and direct interaction with the environment.
