Julia-Maria Köhler (born July 16, 1978 in Finsterwalde ) is a German actress .

Life

The Köhler, who grew up in Senftenberg in Brandenburg , gained her first experiences at the city theater Neue Bühne . From 1998 on, she completed a year of dance training at the Ballet Arts Institute in New York . She later attended the University of Music and Theater in Leipzig . After her acting training was followed by engagements at the Summer Theater Leipzig , the Theater Chemnitz and the Theater Gera-Altenburg .

In 2001 Köhler made her acting debut in front of the camera in a small supporting role in the ARD early evening series Berlin, Berlin , followed by other television works. The German producer Nico Hofmann discovered the actress during a casting for the title role in the 2006 ProSieben television series Crazy About Clara , in which she played a journalist. Köhler played leading roles in the art-house films Whether you want it or not! and LowLights (both 2009) and in several television films, including Inga Lindström - Shadows of the Past and Holger sacht nix (both 2011).

In 2005, Köhler received a special prize in the competition The best German dance solo at the Euro-scene Leipzig for her dance interpretation of Lady Macbeth .
