Christian Maria Goebel
Christian Maria Goebel (born August 14, 1959 in Bochum ) is a German actor .
Life
Christian Maria Goebel is the son of the lawyer Jürgen Goebel and his wife Carla (née Schnorrenberg) and has two younger siblings. In 1979 he passed his Abitur at the Albert Einstein High School in Bochum, worked as an elevator operator in a department store, as a security guard, in the construction of the subway and on the assembly line of a car manufacturer. In 1980 he moved to Berlin . First he studied law and theater studies at the Free University of Berlin . At the same time, he began taking acting lessons and performing at Berlin off-theaters. He deepened his acting work in workshops with teachers at Actor's Studios NY (John Costopolus, Walter Lott and Susan Batson). In 1984 he passed the entrance exam for acting training at the Berlin University of the Arts . During his studies, he earned his living as a taxi driver and completed his training in 1987.

Christian Maria Goebel lived until her death with his partner, the journalist and radio presenter Katja Schlesinger († beginning of December 2016 from colon cancer ), and their three sons (* 2005, 2007, 2008) in Berlin.
Work as an actor
This was followed by engagements at the Freie Volksbühne Berlin (1988), the Städtische Bühnen Münster (1989), the Schauspiel Essen (1990–92), Théâtre de l'Ancre Brussels (1992) and the Staatsschauspiel Dresden (1992–95). During his time in Dresden he developed the play The Fertility Dancers together with the actor, director and singer Friedrich Liechtenstein and took part in various art events at the Hellerau Festival Hall . For example, the theatrical adaptations of the novels The Obelisk and A Month in Dachau by the Russian author Vladimir Sorokin . He also took part in performances, such as the very short piece for bank directors by Till Nikolaus von Heiseler with Michaela Caspar . The videos of the unannounced action were shown at the Viper media festival (Basel) and the Center Pompidou , among others . In 1997 he got the role of one of the two investigators in the TV series SK Kölsch and played the first gay series commissioner on German television. After three years and 38 episodes, he left the series in 2001 and was replaced by Dirk Martens in 2002. He then played the Gestapo head of Lyon , Klaus Barbie, for French television . In the years that followed he was cast for continuous roles in the children's series Die Pfefferkörner and the comedy series Das Büro and since 2005 has played numerous and very different roles in television films, series and crime series for all German broadcasters.
