action

The lawyer Doctor Erik Mohr is found dead in his apartment. Although the murder weapon is known, there are no fingerprints on it and the apartment shows no signs of burglary. Thus the victim must have known his killer. A tenant of the house knows that Mohr often had ladies visiting. There is a message on the answering machine that sounds a lot like a threat.

The commissioners Till Ritter and Felix Stark suspect a murder out of jealousy. From Mohr's law firm partner, Matthias Krone, they learn that he was in a relationship with her colleague Nina Emmerich. She is questioned and says that she recently separated from Mohr and thus also returned the apartment key. She knows about his affairs and is sure that they would have meant nothing to him.

Lutz Weber manages to crack Mohr's e-mail account and finds out that Mohr was a passionate visitor to speed dating meetings. His preferred agency was "Dates-4-Love", which he must have been with before his death. The investigators question the manager, Cora Melmig, who claims to have driven her regular guest home after his visit yesterday because he was drunk. But she would not have gone into his apartment. In the agency, the inspectors come across Kirsten Ziller, to whom they can assign the voice on the answering machine. She is known there for her unpredictable temperament, and so Ritter tries to impress her with his charm in order to be able to question her. However, when she notices that Ritter is a police officer, she runs away. Cora Melmig is certain that Ziller had a relationship with Mohr.

From Paul Ziller, Kirsten's brother, Stark learns that his sister had just been with him and took his gas pistol with her. He knows that she wanted to meet Nina Emmerich. The investigators can stop and arrest Kirsten. She states that she urgently needs money because she wants to open her own boutique and since she knew that Mohr and his partner had evaded taxes to a large extent, she wanted to demand hush money. Since Mohr is now dead, she would have tried to have Emmerich give it to her. However, she can provide an alibi for the time of the crime. The investigators then question Kirsten's brother, who is just as quick-tempered as his sister and who may have wanted to emphasize their demands for money from Mohr. But he too has a solid alibi.

Ritter and Stark find the solution in Mohr's office. By chance, they learn that the trainee lawyer, Arndt Baumeister, is in love with Nina Emmerich and had overheard every dispute between Mohr and Emmerich. As the quarrels escalated, he began to plan to free her from him. In the end, the investigators manage to get an involuntary confession from Baumeister and arrest him.
