Harte Kerle is a German television film by Bernhard Stephan from 2005. It is the twenty-eighth film entry in the ZDF crime film series Stubbe - Von Fall zu Fall with Wolfgang Stumph in the title role.

action

After a wrestling match , actor Walter 'Zorro' Beckenkamp is found shot dead in his dressing room. The inspectors Stubbe and Zimmermann consider the perpetrator to be a "full professional". The investigators find a gold chain in the dead man's hand, which most likely came from his murderer. His friend and combat partner Horst Wegener is deeply affected by the death of his colleague, and Stubbe immediately discovers that the two had a same-sex relationship , which they have so far successfully kept secret.

Beckenkamp was not only a wrestler, but also an employee in a security company . His colleagues there - as well as from the wrestler environment - can only say good things about him and cannot imagine who might have hated him. But Stubbe finds a threatening letter and considers it to be a clear indication that Beckenkamp had felt threatened lately. That's why he secretly got hold of a gun. There are many indications that something is wrong within the security company "Bult". This company regularly secured wrestling matches - this is how Beckenkamp was employed there - and is currently the target of customs investigations after two containers with cigarettes disappeared in the port as part of property protection. When there are clear indications of illegal activities, Zimmermann has the company under surveillance. After a raid, the necessary evidence can be secured: duty-unpaid cigarettes that two employees smuggled. Both can be caught in the act and arrested.

After evaluating the surveillance recordings from the wrestling area, it is clear that the security guard Dieter Polaschek reported the murder anonymously to the police. Zimmermann therefore immediately considers him suspect, but Stubbe comes to a completely different conclusion: Beckenkamp had debts and a high life insurance policy, which should benefit his friend Horst. Since Beckenkamp suffered from inoperable liver cancer, he ultimately shot himself, but first asked his colleague Polaschek to take the weapon and cover up the suicide. In the meantime, Horst Wegener finds the murder weapon at Polaschek and consequently considers him to be the murderer of his friend. Stubbe can, however, prevent Wegener from harming Polaschek. This now has to answer for faking a crime.
