Oliver Stern (born May 31, 1959 in Vienna , Austria ; † February 1, 2011 in Berlin ) was an Austrian actor .

Life

After studying acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna , Stern had engagements from 1981 to 1994 at the Schauspielhaus Graz and at the Vienna Burgtheater , where he appeared from 1984 to 1991 and from 1997 to 2000. At the same time, he played from 1991 to 1993 in Berlin at the Staatliche Schauspielbühnen Berlin and then until 1995 at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz . From 2000 he was a guest actor in the Berliner Ensemble .

Stern had his first film role in 1984 as "Anatol" in Malambo by Milan Dor . In the following years he worked with Dor on other projects, including the television films The Snow of Last Year (1986) from the Tatort series and Les volets verts (1988) from the L'heure Simenon series . In the television film Twiggy - Love on a diet (1998) by Tomy Wigand , he played the male lead alongside Christine Neubauer .

Stern became known to a larger television audience through the comedic crime series Adelheid and her murderers with Evelyn Hamann , in which he played "Inspector Ralf Schilling" in 39 episodes from 2000 to 2007, who was bullied by his superior, Chief Inspector Ewald Strobel ( Heinz Baumann ) becomes.

In Heinrich Breloer's three-part TV documentary drama Speer and Er , Stern played the Gauleiter Fritz Sauckel . He was seen as a policeman in the Austrian film The Bone Man (2009) based on the novel of the same name by Wolf Haas . he also worked as a radio play speaker.

Stern lived alternately in Berlin and Vienna. He died of a heart attack on February 1, 2011.
