Olaf Götz

Olaf Götz [ˈgøt͡s] (born June 27, 1965 in Dresden ) is a German film director . His best-known works are Die Deutschen , Hinter Gittern - Der Frauenknast and In allerfreund .

Life

Olaf Götz was born on June 27, 1965 in Dresden. He gained his first television experience in the 1980s as an actor and assistant director for GDR television. He then began studying directing at the University of Film and Television (HFF) Potsdam-Babelsberg , which he successfully completed in 1991. This was followed by work at various production companies as assistant director and producer. Olaf Götz has been working as a freelance director since 1997.

He works for both private and public broadcasters and his spectrum so far includes the genres of television film, television series, daily, telenovela and documentary. The first season of the ZDF docudrama Die Deutschen , for which he is largely responsible as a director, was nominated for the German Television Award in 2009. In addition to his directorial work, Olaf Götz has been teaching in the drama department at the University of Music and Theater - HMT Rostock for several years .
