content
Crime writer Friedemann Brix has the gift of being drawn into crime again and again when researching a new novel. His habit of getting to the bottom of things more than necessary is a thorn in the side of his wife Helga, while his daughter Stella is only too happy to support her father. If Friedemann's private investigations are stuck in a dead end, he will gladly take the help of his friend Günter Bommel, a former crook with excellent contacts to the underworld. On the other hand, Commissioner Wagner naturally disapproves of Brix's solo efforts.

Reviews
The series received mostly negative reviews. The Rheinische Post judged : “What ZDF is offering its viewers as a new series from this Thursday is, to put it mildly, an impertinence. In a would-be crime thriller, the simplicity of which appears as if it was constructed with a Lego kit. If ZDF didn't mean it seriously, one could at least laugh, for example at Hark Bohm, who, as the Berlin Russian prince, utters a German-Russian mixture with a Hamburg accent; about Ben Becker as Brix friend Bommel, who as a car mechanic always has sparkling clean fingers and with his designer glasses looks more like an art director than a car mechanic; about woodcut dialogues in which you actually hear Bommel say: 'The underworld is no Disneyland for bored poets. "
"The television thriller on the net", the website of the media and communication studies of the University of Halle stated: "[...] Due to the old-fashioned and lengthy staging, the series was a flop despite the brilliant cast and funny ideas in the scripts."
The Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger, on the other hand, was of the opinion: "All imaginable crime stereotypes are easily pulled through the cocoa."
