Five Last Days is a film about the resistance fighter of the White Rose, Sophie Scholl , which was released in German cinemas on October 16, 1982 and first shown on television on February 20, 1983.

action

In contrast to Sophie Scholl - The Last Days , the director Percy Adlon describes the last five days of the resistance fighter Sophie Scholl not from Scholl's point of view, but from the point of view of her fellow prisoner Else Gebel . Scholl and the Christian socialist Gebel got closer through their stay in cells.

The focus of the film is on the well-being and exhaustion of Sophie Scholl, who was sentenced to death, and not the Gestapo interrogations and the trial. Adlon only wanted to touch with this insight and de-dramatized the last events in Sophie Scholl's life.

reception

The lexicon of international films judges: “Strict, reserved and distanced character study in the style of a psychological chamber play that dispenses with narrative embellishment and spectacular dramatization.” The film magazine Cinema describes the film as “brittle chamber play in pale colors”.
