Michela Murgia
Michela Murgia (born June 3, 1972 in Cabras ) is an Italian writer.
Life
Michela Murgia studied theology and taught religion. In her first book ( Il mondo deve sapere ), which has already been filmed, she describes the precarious working conditions in a call center based on her own relevant experience. It is about the economic exploitation and psychological manipulation to which the temporary workers expose themselves. In May 2008 Murgia published a volume of short stories ( Viaggio in Sardegna. Undici percorsi nell'isola che non si vede ) about the little explored places on the island of Sardinia . Using eleven terms ranging from stone to sound to water and femininity , she unfolds the island's diverse mythological heritage. Michela Murgia's first novel Accabadora was published in May 2009. The novel is set in Sardinia in the 1950s and deals with issues of euthanasia and adoption . He has received several awards.
Murgia is a representative of the Sardinian literary nouvelle vague , also known as New Sardinian Literature . After a few years in Milan, Murgia is now back in Sardinia.
