Giulio Angioni (born October 28, 1939 in Guasila , Sardinia , † January 12, 2017 in Cagliari ) was an Italian writer and anthropologist .

Life

Angioni was full professor of cultural anthropology at the University of Cagliari since 1981 and director of the institute for social anthropology at the same university since 1982 . From 1992 he was President of the Société des Européanistes in Brussels . Angioni was a contributor to the encyclopedia of fairy tales and the specialist journal Fabula .

Angioni, along with Sergio Atzeni and Salvatore Mannuzzu, is considered one of the protagonists of contemporary Sardinian fiction ( New Sardinian Literature ). His work builds on works by Grazia Deledda , Emilio Lussu , Giuseppe Dessì , Gavino Ledda and Salvatore Satta . Among his novels, Le fiamme di Toledo (2006), Assandira (2004), Il sale sulla ferita (1990), La pelle intera (2007) and Doppio cielo (2010) are considered the best.
